Paper 1B: Falling objects
Two original data-based questions in the style of IB Paper 1B: measuring g with a falling ball, and the terminal speed of paper cones. They test experimental skills: uncertainties, graphs, gradients and models. Write your answers, then mark them yourself with an IB-style markscheme.

Instructions
- Answer all the questions. Show your working: most marks are for the method, not just the final answer.
- The marks for each part are shown in brackets, for example [2]. Use them to judge how much to write.
- You have 40 minutes: 2 minutes per mark (Paper 1 timing). Take g = 9.8 m s⁻².
- Type your answers in the boxes, or work on paper and use the boxes for short notes. Your answers are saved on this device.
- When you finish, the markscheme appears under each part. Award yourself the marks you earned.

How to use the markscheme. Each line ending in ✔ is one mark. Words in « » are not needed for the mark. A correct numerical answer with no working gets full marks unless a note says otherwise. ECF (error carried forward): you still get the mark if you used your own wrong answer from an earlier part correctly. Be honest: give a mark only if your answer has that point.
