Levelled practice
44 original questions in six topics: friction, buoyancy and drag, Newton’s laws, equilibrium, lifts and slopes, and connected bodies and pulleys. Each topic climbs four levels, from knowing the words to multi-step problems. Check your answers as you go, take a hint when you are stuck, and compare with a worked answer.

How to use this page
- Try before you look. At L1 and L2 the worked answer is always open, so you can learn from it. At L3 and L4 it opens after you check once or use all the hints. Trying first helps you remember.
- Level checks ★. Get the level check right first time, with no hints, to earn a star and move up. Missed it? Another question at that level becomes your level check. Tick Level checks only to find your level quickly.
- Climb one level at a time. When you pass the level check, move up. If not, go back to the refresher link at the top of the topic.
- Mix it up later. When you have done the topics, press Mix the order. Mixed practice is harder, but it is closer to the exam and it lasts longer.
- Come back in a few days. Turn on “Hide the ones I got right” and do the rest again. Your progress is saved on this device only.
- Give numbers in the unit shown. Answers within 2% are marked correct. Use g = 9.8 m s⁻².
